A little about Barbour Butter Cakes

Hey you! My name is Karla, and I’m the owner and creator behind Barbour Butter Cakes. I’m a proud Dominican who grew up surrounded by the vibrant flavors of both Latin and American cultures, and I’ve always been inspired to infuse my heritage into the cakes and treats I create. My journey into the world of baking started at a young age, working alongside my aunt, and that early exposure sparked a lifelong passion.

As I grew older, I pursued my love for baking through high school and later earned a degree in Baking and Pastry Management, along with a Technical Certificate in Baking and Pastry Arts. After gaining hands-on experience as a Pastry Chef in a hotel, where I worked across restaurant, production, and banquet settings, I decided it was time to turn my dream into a reality. In 2024, I officially launched Barbour Butter Cakes, where I pour my heart and soul into every creation.

At Barbour Butter Cakes, I blend my Dominican roots with the skills and knowledge I've gained along the way, offering delicious treats that not only satisfy the taste buds but also create lasting memories. This business is everything to me, and I’m so excited to share a little piece of my journey and culture with the world, one sweet bite at a time.
